silhouette self portrait

The assignment was a self portrait, the steps that I took to complete my portrait was I had to have my picture taken than I was uploaded on to the computer, where I than traced myself using the pen tool, after I was done with that I had to add color to the different pieces of myself, I had to make myself twice but design them differently. I was required to have some kind of text in one of them and some kind nice background and I had to have two of them. The type of software that I used was I used illustrator and I used to pen tool, the shape tool, and the text box to create a text in my self portrait.

The way that I cropped myself was my head shoulders and half of my arm, the kind of text that I used was I used the text to shape my whole self portrait, the second self portrait the words were very, very small and I made some things transparent. The back ground of my image is full of different shapes, stars, square, triangles and exc.. I colored each shape differently.

The way that I cropped my piece does create an interesting composition because I makes the viewer looking at my piece think Hmmm what is she thinking. Yes I do think that the font style I choose fits well with my quote because my quote is very simple its just me, my full name over and over and again and than it changes a little bit in to I ‘am a star and I do think it goes well with it. My background enhances my design because my background is transparent and the front is not to the background grabs and brings the viewers attention to the front piece of the self portrait.

I think that I did pretty well on this project I think that I at least deserve a 3 on this project. What I like best about my project is the transparent background with all of the different shapes and different colors. The new tools that I used were the pen tool, the shape tool, and the text box tool. What I learned was that designing stuff wasn’t very easy but it is very rewarding and I also learned how to create things using different techniques and tools on the computer.

animal hybrid

The assignment was that I had to choose three animals that represented me and my personality and combine them all into one hybrid animal. The steps that I had to take to complete this animal was I had to choose three animal and get pictures of them, than I had to trace the image using the pen tool once I did that I added details to the outlining to make it look realistic, than after that I had to add color to the images to make it look nice and pretty once that was finished I combined the whole animal together using the group button in illustrator. I was required to create a habitat that the animal I created would live in and I was required to add detail in it and when I was done with every thing I had to complete a reflection. The soft wear that I had used was illustrator.

The three animals that I choose to use were a pig, a tiger and a peacock, the parts that I choose to combine were the tiger face with pig ears, a pig body and a peacock tail. The back ground/habitat that I created for the animal was a grassy place with a little bit of mud at night.

The three animals that I choose represented my personality well I said the I was fierce ,lazy at times, and fun. The pig represented the lazy side of me because pigs are known for being lazy and just laying there and doing nothing all the time. The tiger represented the mean/fierce side of me it says don’t get on my bad said, tigers are known for me killing ,fierce animals. I choose the peacock because it represents the colorful, fun side of me, because peacocks are so fun colorful and beautiful to look at. My back ground environment relates to my animals because tigers like grassy areas and so do peacock and pigs like mud, I just added the night part because I thought it was a nice touch.

Looking at the assignment sheet I think that maybe I deserve like a 3, I think that I did a pretty good job on the assignment I think that I picked three animals that were kind of crazy to combine but in a good way and I wouldn’t change anything about my final piece. I learned how to use the pen tool much better and how to duplicate things that you already did and how to add details to the simplest things this was a very fun project and I liked it a lot.
